Audi introduced the updated sedan and station wagon A4


Audi A4 (body index remained the same - B9) received new front and rear bumpers, fenders with a different stitching, doors with a lower waist line, as well as a modified radiator grille. The design of the grille is different and depends on the equipment. For example, conventional cars have horizontal bars in it. The S and S-line versions have a honeycomb grille structure, while the Allroad has chrome vertical gills in the manner of Audi's latest Q-line crossovers.
Restyled Audi A4 received a new engine family, which is a micro-hybrid system. In the on-board network of all modifications, a circuit with a 12- or 48-volt circuit and an additional battery is integrated, which powers most of the vehicle's electrical systems, allowing to reduce the load on the engine and, accordingly, helps to save fuel.
At the same time, the A4 lost the base 1.4 liter engine. After restyling, the initial engines for the A4 are diesel "fours" with a volume of 2 liters and 136 liters. from. (version 30 TDI) or 163 hp from. (35 TDI). An alternative to diesels is a two-liter petrol turbo engine with 150 hp. from. (version 35 TFSI).
Up a notch are the 40 TDI (190 HP) and 45 TFSI (249 HP) versions. The new top version of the S5 with a diesel engine under the hood closes the line of modifications. The three-liter "six" with turbochargers develops 347 liters. from. and 700 Nm. However, this version will not be presented in Russia.

In addition, the car received a new MMI multimedia system with a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a set of services that allow you to monitor traffic: load traffic jams in real time and even "catch" a green wave of traffic lights.

Audi e-tron: Tesla's stylish rival


If you think about it, then just a couple of years ago, Tesla, with its products, was practically the only company that produced premium electric vehicles. Nevertheless, competitors did not keep themselves waiting long and in 2018 there was a real revolution in this market segment. Now consumers can choose, as there are many more premium electric cars: Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace, Mercedes-Benz EQC.
We'll talk about the products of Jaguar and Mercedes, but now, let's look at the technical characteristics of the Audi e-tron. To begin with, this is a rather long car - its length is 4.9 m. It turns out that it is somewhat shorter than the Q7 SUV, but also significantly larger than the Q5. The Tesla Model X is slightly longer than the Audi e-tron, albeit by only 104 mm, and the Mercedes-Benz EQC, on the contrary, is somewhat shorter - 4656 mm in length.
The power plant of the e-tron consists of two independent electric motors with a total power of 300 kW (equivalent to 408 horsepower), with a torque of 600 Nm. Just make a reservation right away - German engineers somewhat exaggerate the merits of their offspring. In fact, these are the parameters of the peak power that the engines can give only for 8 seconds, which is sufficient for instant acceleration. And after such a rapid acceleration, the driver has 265 kW (360 horsepower) at his disposal, which is also quite a lot. At the same time, the maximum speed of the Audi e-tron is programmatically limited to 200 km / h.
On a fully charged battery, a car can travel 400 km, while the battery capacity is 95 kW / h. The maximum charging speed is available at special charging stations, where you can charge in just half an hour, during which time the battery will restore 80% of its capacity. On home charging, the car will charge for at least 10 hours.

New Audi RS Q8 is faster than Porsche Cayenne Turbo



The premiere of the flagship crossover Audi RS Q8 took place - the novelty "inherited" the moderate-hybrid power plant and interior from the RS6 / RS7 models and distinguished itself with a special sports chassis tuning. As expected, the RS Q8 became the fastest SUV Audi: the first hundred coupe exchanges in 3.8 seconds - 0.1 faster than the current Cayenne Turbo.
Outwardly, the most powerful "ku-eighth" is distinguished by an aggressive grille with an enlarged air intake, original bumpers with contrasting gray, black or carbon inserts, a developed diffuser, huge 22- or 23-inch discs, red brake calipers of increased size and a branded exhaust of the RS-series with two branch pipes divorced along the edges. In addition, the novelty can be distinguished by the decor - nameplates and the color of the mirrors. Matrix headlights are optional.
The technical stuffing of the RS Q8 is familiar from the current RS6 station wagon and the RS7 liftback - under the hood is the same four-liter V8 engine with double supercharging, working in conjunction with a 48-volt starter-generator and an eight-band “automatic”. Peak output of the hybrid system - 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque The RS Q8 accelerates from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds - the same amount spent on the starting jerk with the new 625-horsepower BMW X6 M Competition crossover or 680-horsepower hybrid Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid. The Lamborghini Urus is faster - accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour takes 3.6 seconds.

Italians are preparing a beautiful little crossover



Published the first photos of the pre-production version of the new crossover Alfa Romeo Tonale, which in the future will compete with compact SUVs from Audi, BMW, Range Rover. The car is similar to the concept of the same name, presented this spring at the Geneva Motor Show. However, some details have changed, including the optics and exhaust pipes.
Unfortunately, there are no high-quality photos of the salon yet. The concept featured a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster screen and a 10.25-inch center display for the multimedia system in the interior. The prototype was built on the basis of a shortened version of the Giorgio modular platform.
Moreover, the concept became the first hybrid in the history of the brand!  They did not say much about the units, but it is known that this is a hybrid rechargeable from a stationary power grid with an internal combustion engine rotating the front axle and an electric motor on the rear wheels. Numerous driving modes are available, including the sporty, sporty and mandatory plug-in pure electric.

 Audi showed off-road wagon A6 Allroad new generation


Audi has unveiled the new generation "tall" A6 Allroad. The Allroad version differs from other members of the A6 family, which debuted last year, with a suspension with increased ground clearance and assistance systems when driving on light off-road.
The ground clearance of the novelty at standard settings was 139 mm, which is 45 mm more than that of the conventional A6 Avant station wagon. The basic equipment includes adaptive air suspension with special settings, which changes the ground clearance depending on the road surface, as well as on the basis of driving speed. The maximum clearance is 184 mm.
In addition, the station wagon is equipped with a body roll control system and a hill descent assist function, which automatically limits the speed in the range from 20 to 30 km / h and can selectively brake all or one of four wheels for a safe exit.
The line of engines includes three three-liter V6 diesels of varying degrees of boost. The base motor develops 231 power and 500 Nm, while the "medium" unit produces 286 hp. and 620 Newton meters. Finally, the top engine develops 349 hp and 720 Newton meters.
All mild hybrid powertrains based on the 48-volt onboard system are mated to an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission.

European sales of the new generation Audi A6 Allroad all-terrain station wagon will start in June 2019. Prices start at 61.5 thousand euros (approximately 4.5 million rubles).
